They do look rather nice don't they
On the Mac Mini front, it's alleged the refresh is simply going to be the inclusion of faster processors.

Had a mad idea that maybe a mac head could shed a little light on.
in about 12 months time my house should have its extension built and part of the project will involve networking the house, so that all TV's computers etc share services, now instead of getting a HD telly in the bedroom would putting in an iMac with the tv gubbins make life easier? (if a tad more expensive)
Just saw those bad boys last night and thought <andy pipkin> want one <andy pipkin>

If you just want it for TV that I would say it's overkill.
You'd get a Mac Mini and a Decent HDTV LCD/Large Monitor for less.
Either way, a Mac with EyeTV tuner works beautifully (for Freeview, at least). If you have other computers around, you can stream the EyeTV feed to other machins too with free software!
As for the Mini - I'm getting one anyway and the update will save me money and get me a larger hdd. I maybe able to stretch to 160gb HDD (although archived stuff will go on a fileserver) and the new BT keyboard - which is perfect for a media computer.
Shame about the wireless, although I'll be using gigabit wired anyway for the highest transfer speed I can get.
Still think the Mini's days are numbered though. And I'm still waiting for Leopard.
