Default One for the network engineers

How do you backup vlan.dat off a Cisco 6509?
had a root around on cisco site but no luck as of yet

may be way off the mark here

but is it the normal copy flash tftp command

then it prompts you for IP address and filename etc of the TFTP server?

yep, if you reset the router to a blank config the vlan.dat doesnt get deleted either IIRC

and as above tftp it off

So is vlan.dat in the flash?
your right sonic it shouldnt get removed, but backing up incase something happens that corrupts the table etc as we've alot of vlan information that are on the VTP servers

to double check run command

sh flash

that should list the items

i think we need to clarify somethings first, this isnt a 2950.
Its 6509 with 7000 series supervisor. sh flash doesnt list the flash a 6509
