360 died
seriously bad artifacts then games wouldnt load "hd error" & its only 6mnths...
so have people been going back to the shop to get it replaced or ms to be repaired, how have shops responded if youve tried to take it back there?
Curious about replacements, is my gamertag & score, games purchased & live subscription based on MS servers so i can carry on as normal on a completely new unit or how does it work?

Pontificating
How many threads have I read starting 360 died this machine must have the highest failure rate of any consol ever, are you sure MS built it and not Rover
No wonder MS have extended the warranty to 3 years too little too late me thinks or are they just admitting defeat and trying to hold on to customers, if the PS3 was £100 cheaper they'd have buried the 360 a long time ago, must be the games saving it's ***.

All your details are on the MS servers, except saved games of course. And your live subscriptions is extended by the time you are left with a broken xbox if you return it to MS
This month has been a bad one for MS, everyone seems to be returning their xbox at the mo.

ok just to clarify we're talking about the official ms memory stick or will any usb do?
How do you retrieve the files and copy them over, is this auto done with this stick? havent noticed a way to save a loaded save game to a different location. Have i feeling i dont have too much messing around time before it completely dumps...

DJ Dunk knows how to back up game saves.
I think, basically, you buy the MS memory stick (that plugs into the controller) then copy them across, then you use Datel tools to copy the saves from the memory card onto your PC. Amazon.co.uk: Data Transfer Kit: White (Xbox 360): PC & Video Games
