windows xp gone wrong

Default windows xp gone wrong

When i try starting me computer up it will not start in any mode and when i choose a mode it just restarts its self. would be great if someone could get in get contact with me.

Have you got a windows xp boot disc, you can boot it and try run the repair option, you will need administrator password tho.

I had this a couple of years ago and it was my PSU that was faulty.

A friend has just had this and it was memory.

Can you run the BIOS self tests? If it fails on any of these, you have a hardware problem and it's nothing to do with Windows.

Does it blue screen ?

Can you see the error message before it restarts ?

Had this lately on a few machines, error is unmountable boot volume

Fix for that is to boot from XP CD, choose recovery

from the command prompt, chkdsk /r then when it has finished fixboot C:

problem solved, if it is indeed the error you are getting

Could be anything as listed above mate, have you got any USB devices, try removing all of them and booting the PC, if it works, load each one and reboot, until the issue is found.
