tomtom mounts?

tomtom mounts?
been looking at a mates tomtom, looks good. anyway he just got this 'alternative' mounting kit but it comes with zero instructions, and neither of us could work it all out!
basically wondered if anyone has this?
do you attach the plate the tomtom slides into permanantely to one of the fixing methods? for example the vent mount? or do you slide it onto tomtom and then just use onlythe tabs to slot it onto mount? seems like it might fall off the tabs if you go over a bump etc? or are we being thick?!!

Who makes the alternative mount kit ? what does it look like ?
If its this one, i would assume you take the screw out of the original kit, and mount the normal tomtom mount to this new bit.
