iTunes sync problem
posted in NSR but no response, so prob best here anyway:
Follwing form other thread and PC rebuild.
I've plugged in iPod and it "thinks" that it is synced with another library and wants to erase and re-sync. Not a 'major' problem in itself, however I have 45GB of songs on it so it will take AGES so there must be another way to make it think that it's synced with this library.
Apple also think I'm authorised my PC TWICE as well (poss related to the above problem). How does Apple uniquely identify a PC?

you authorise the machine via the Logic board (motherboard in pc land)
so thats why you might be getting the error.
As for getting around it no there isnt. your only other option is to set your pod to manually manage
