Default Dell Flat screen monitor gone Kaput help!

Can someone please advise. The monitor has gone blank. The power switch just blinks. I have tried the obvious things - the computer is Ok I have tried another monitor - wires etc. is it worth repairing ? any advice would be welcome - Jes

Are you sure it's the monitor? It's not the graphics card in the PC? The blinking light means no signal/power saving.

Yes it is the monitor because I connected another monitor to my PC and it works perfectly. Now I want to know if I should thow the bad one away - which would be a shame because it is only 3 years old - or get it repaired and use it with my other PC. Jes

What size is it? Those dell 19" ones are worth about £100 iirc, so if it costs more than that to repair, it would make more sense to bin it.

It is 17" - I was just thinking that if it was something simple that I could do then I will fix it rather than binning it, on the other hand if it is more complicated then I agree it would be wise to bin it - what a waste though! - Jes
