Wonder if john lewis will do there usual price match on this ?? especially with there standard five year warranty because from reading around the various forums a five year warranty is what you will need ??!!
is the 360 really that unreliable ?? seems to be a heck off a lot of owners get the usual 360 faults with them eventually be it within the first month to the second year off using them.
any further advice appreciatted. .

Mines only 6 months old and supposed to have been built after all the initial hardware issues were ironed out but got hard drive error lights at the weekend. I know that I will be renewing my warranty on it each year at £30 a time.
But then I am also thinking of getting one of these core consoles at that price for the kids as it is such a fantastic bit of kit.

What are the main functional differences between the 'Core' and 'Premium' systems then? I gather there's no HDD in the core systems, but what practical difference does that make. I.e. what can't you do with the core system that premium will do out of the box?

you have to store save games on a memory card, you cannot download demos from the marketplace. you get a controller with a lead as opposed to wireless.
all the bits can be bought afterwards to make it premium so it isn't really an issue.

what i did was buy a core
i should have bought the premium, i splashed out on a memory card, and then bought a harddrive afterwards
then bought the wireless headset, i dont need the wireless controllers so that was me pretty much sorted
