Just waiting to finish RTCW, but have a pile of PC games to play and this is one. lOOking forward to it... 
I remember playing Resident Evil (1) on the PS. That made me jump loads, same with Silent Hill.

Silent Hill on PS2 was a great game. One of my favs.
FEAR is good. Gets a bit repetitive but does puts the ***** up you good.
STALKER is better IMO.
I've gone back to Dawn of War (best RTS ever IMO ) until the next big FPS comes out - hopefully Bioshock.

There are definitely a couple of jump-out-the-seat moments... but my favourite is using the shotgun when on the slow-mo - running through a crowd of bad guys and getting one to explode at point blank. The cloud of blood looks stunning when viewed in slow-mo.
Not to mention hitting an explosive barrel in slow-mo. It looks astonishing.
