kind of puts the PS3 price tag into perspective

It'll be £350 within 3/4 months of release though, as per usual, so you can buy two of them

Although, ATi have a real beast of card coming out

Not really. It's a lot more powerful than the hardware in the PS3

Lets hope I.D. or Valve go mad with the DirectX10 engine for these cards

Think Crysis will show us what DX10 can do when it comes out.

As for the ATI card, I don't think it can touch even the 8800GTX. Unless the first batch of drivers were holding it back.

The ATi 2950 XTX will be a fine competitor to the GTX and Ultra IMO, are you not thinking of the 2900 XT which had already beaten the 8800gts 640mb in all tests ? the 2900 is also only £215 which is a good price for that sort of power. Although I hate to think what the 2950XTX will be

...So you're saying I may need to upgrade my Orchid Righteous Voodoo 1 (4MB) to play Crysis ?

If it beats it, its not by much. Be interesting to see how the 2950 fairs against the 88 ultra.
