Slashdot mentions Xvid support but unless I'm blind I don't see that mentioned anywhere, I do see the following though:
H.264 video support: Up to 15 Mbps, Baseline, Main, and High (up to level 4.1) Profiles with 2 channel AAC LC and Main Profiles.
Added MPEG-4 Part 2 video support: Up to 8 Mbps, Simple Profile with 2 channel AAC LC and Main Profiles.
Windows Media protected content (WM-DRM) can now be streamed from the PC to the console. If the WM-DRM license is missing or corrupted then a specific error message is displayed to the user. Bookmarking is also stored for protected content.
Have to say I do like the mini keyboard as well, at first glance I thought it was a new controller and not just an accessory, good to see it's not

ahhhh this is a godsend
never understood why this wasn't always the way it was done, i have all the lost episodes on my second hard drive and its a pain to scroll down every time, i resorted to only sharing certain folders at any one time
Folder view for video content on connected devices

Oh man that would be great if it's true.
I'm not sure why they've waited so long to enable divx support (waiting for the PS3?!?) but it will be a welcome addition!!

Wooh! If this is correct and the Elite will play Divx/Xvid and has HDMI output then this is a no-brainer Home Cinema / Media Centre player...
H.264 is a REAL benefit as there aren't, today, any of the stand-alone HD streamers that can handle H.264 as far as I'm aware....
Can't wait for the Elite to come here now - 'cus I'll be first in the queue....

Divx/Xvid is not supported.
You can have a little look at the new features in action here:

That's a great video, although no mention of movies.

Of course, you can get a keyboard for the 360 now (plugs into the joypad) and not everyone has a laptop 2 feet away
