..........or vice versa?

I'm trying to put some stuff onto a digital disc for use in the car, the headunit supports both, but half seems to be MP3 and the other half WMA.

Anybody help? Thanks.

Oh........I'm doing it with NERO, if that makes any difference?

Yeah, i wanna know how to do this too, to make some discs for the car.

How do i take mp3 files off Limewire and get them onto a disc. I am a complete Luddite when it comes to some technology.

Do i HAVE to use Nero or something similar or can i use Windows media player somehow. If i have to use Nero or an equivalant can you get it for free from anywhere? (Yes, i am a cheap skate)

If I can't CHANGE them, why can't I record both types and let the player choose what it's playing it in?

iTunes will convert WMA to MP3 Does it automatically when you run an import of files to the library. Im trying to think of what i used to use before. Check out download.com for a small app that will convert them, shareware or freeware will do it.

or you can download a small app to do that and then burn an MP3 disc using Nero. The unit will want either MP3 or WMA, the difference being the size of the file, it wont be able to read both on the same disc. My wog box wont distinguish the two either, so it has to be one or the other

There is always a way, at worst you'll have to turn them back into .wav then into your chosen format, but there must be programs out there that can transcode. Like I said try CDEX CDex

There may be some slight loss of quality though.

Nero 6 (and above I suspect), when making an audio CD will convert WMA and MP3 files to CDA format for use in your audio player. Where to get it cheap? <cough> BitTorrent

You could also use dBPoweramp Music Convertor which will allow you to convert files from one format to another.

I got some software called Switch found using google which converts WMA to MP3. We have an ipod and a sony so MP3 is the only common thing if we don't want to pay twice.
Let me know if you want the .exe file sending.

There's also an OS X version of Switch for any Mac types.
