Window Sizes

I use Windows XP. Everytime I click on a link I get a new window open but it is only large thumbnail size, about 2 x 2 inches, and not full screen. Of course I can change to full screen size but it is bloody irritating.
This has happened after I installed an HP scanner (along with some other minor nuisances, like a log-in message appearing at start-up). But I don't know enough about PCs to know why on earth this should happen.
So what do I do to get clicked links to open into full screen size please? david

I should just be a case of:
1) Click a link so you get one of your small windows.
2) Drag the corner to resize it to suit
3) Click the X to close the window
All new windows should now be that size.

Thanks DJD but unfortunately that didn't work. I could easily enlarge the first link by dragging open but the next link reverted to the small size. Aagggghhh.
Do you think a re-boot would help? Might try that. david

Odd. Make sure you close the first browser window first, second (just resized) browser window second.
If not, try it this way (assuming its IE). . .
First, close all open IE windows, then launch IE again. Right-click on any link and choose Open in New Window. Resize the resulting secondary window to the size you want for all secondary windows.
Now close the window by holding the Shift key and clicking the X icon in its top-right-hand corner. Set the remaining window to the size you want IE to have when initially launched, and close it in the same way. IE should now remember your preferred window sizes.

Award yourself a Gold Star DJD.
All fine now. You've made an old man very happy, as they say
I hadn't closed the first browser window in my first attempt. david
