Question upgrade from Gainward FX 5900XL Ultra Graphics card?

There are so many graphics cards about - it's difficult to know how to rank them.

My current 128 MB card is required in another machine - it will run O/C with Gainwards own expertool @ 450/850 MHz
It's 3Dmark scores are
'03 ~ 6100
'05 ~ 1150
'06 ~ 211
Anyway - it does pretty much what I need it to - but around that sort of area £30 - £60 there are loads of AGP cards...
Is a 6600GT, 6800GS, X800, X850, 7300GT, (7800GS ) etc, etc going to get me much further?

I did find a ranking table for the various NVidia and ATi cards once on another forum but can't find it now

Anyway - any ideas on bang for buck cards much appreciated, quite happy with s/h.

Cheers

Mick

You know I would steve - BUT my delicate ears would get such a bashing

6800GT seems to be still selling at a high price... It's probably the most tempting...

Lightbulb some scores for my new 6600GT...

3DMark06 - 500/900 - 1803 beats my fx5900 score of 211 reasonably comfortably LOL
3DMark06 - o/c @ 583/983 - 2053 there were just a 'few' artifacts at that speed - but very impressive

- I will try again with the front & rear coolers reseated with fresh thermal paste & then maybe with a Zalman cooler... VF700 or sommat

cheers

Yeah 06 is a huge download - over 1/2 a gig

I squeezed 4295 out of the 6600GT running at the o/c speeds - so not too bad... 3770 as standard

It's nice to have a card that will actually run these things & give a measurable score

Cheers

Mick
