It does look good. Doesn't look any better than the 360 stuff though. The two machine are looking pretty equal at the moment...

yup, mine is preordered, with hdmi and extra controller.
The woman was very confused that I didn't want any games, I think she thought I was just going to sell it on ebay!

If you really believe that, then I suggest you take a good long look at the plethora of great 360 games out there, a lot of which look a lot better than the titles in that promo vid. Don't forget that the PS3 developers have had a lot longer to write the launch games than the 360 developers did...

Got one on pre-order, partly for the gaming, partly for the Blue-Ray player...If I could only have one console only I'd probably stick with the 360, but Motorstorm and RFOM do look pretty good

don't believe the hype
the first sequence with the car was a tech demo shown ages ago at a games expo. Sony showed it with a demo of KillZone. They forget to mention it was pre-rendered.
Who knows the final games may look like that, but I'd wait to see them running before drawing any conclusions

They do look good (not as good as the E3 rendered video), but I found the games themselves very lacklustre (shallow). That's why I'm waiting till later in the year to get one. I want some games that are actually worth playing...

Will be getting a PS3, but not at launch - a couple of decent games but I'm more interested in blu ray at the moment.
Gotmashed has a point - Look at Rainbow 6, graphically its a backwards step from GRAW, although GRAW 2 is supposed to be a huge step up from the original, and from what I've seen of Halo 3, it looks no different from Halo 2.

He does have a point though Iain.
1 year on, and there still isn't anything really amazing on the 360. I bought my 360 in December, and still have a few games to start on. een looking for the new stuff coming out and there's nothing on the horizon that makes me drool

Hmmm, how about Forza 2, mass effect, asassins creed etc. There's certainly just as much good looking stuff coming out for the 360 over ther next few months as there is for the PS3, if not more.

Forza 2 and Burnout 5 are the ones I loko forward to, but they have slipped to May now.
I'm not comparing against PS3, that will have the same issues unless developers come up with new stuff instead of re-hashing old games, i'm just talking in general.
When PS1 came out, after 12 months the games were significantly better, I haven't seen that with the 360 yet.
And if Halo 3 is as naff as the other 2 god help us

I'm becoming a bit disappointed in the 360. There's just nothing out that I'm interested in playing at the moment. The lack of innovation is alarming.
Playing my PSP and DS much more.

I've not touched my PSP or DS for over a year. The software situation on those (especially the PSP) is even worse than the consoles imo...

Perhaps its the increased hardware complexity that is having a negative affect on the time needed to produce a game these days? The stakes are getting so high these days, perhaps they need to unify console architecture along with an API, although I can't see Sony licencing DirectX anytime soon!

So what exactly are you waiting to see?
There are games available for the 360 now (and especially in the next couple of months or so) that just wouldn't have been possible to do on the old xbox / ps2, so advances have definitely been made technically. Gameplay is a different story, but that's got nothing to do with the hardware...

I know GRAW & R6 are usually compared together, but I would have thought that 2 teams both working for Ubisoft would want bragging rights over each other, in which case the Montreal side arent gloating - a little wierd when they were the ones responsible for the 360 version of Far Cry, which I would also say looks better than R6.
Just to contradict my earlier post - went and ordered my PS3 today...

LOL, you moan about lack of games and originality, then buy the most expensive console with probably the worst selection of games (certainly for the next year) of them all I hope it's worth it for blu-ray (and the format doesn;t die like all of Sonys previous format efforts - anyone remember betamax, minidisc and umd)...

Not out til end of June for PS3 though

Watched the clip and the only in game footage that i could make out were the first two, well above it says the first was tweaked, and the second looks ****e, thats not a next gen console game, even a launch one at that.

I am after the PS3 more for blu-ray than the games at the moment - I've ordered Resistance & Motorstorm which both look pretty decent but aren't what I would call killer titles - I'll be waiting with baited breath for GT5, MGS4, Ratchet & Clank, Killzone and whatever name they call the next Wipeout.
Black Hawk Down on BR for £13.99 and Casino Royale as a freebie with the PS3 will keep me occupied for a while - as long as I can drag myself away from GRAW 2 that it.
I hope you're right about a new Burnout - got a bet on with a mate to see who can get 1000 gamerscore out of it first...
