Can someone let me know how I can enable jumbo frames on a 4006, or if indeed I can...

Don't you just set the MTU to be a bit jumbo in size?

commands I have found dont seem to work, and I was thinking of around 9000

that's how i do it on me 877 but it err may be different on that device

Hi, I don't think you can with those cards.

Whilst the supervisor and software look ok, there is a list of all modules that support Jumbos.
See here (about two thirds down):
