Default Any recomendations for private lan over wan products?

Seen a few but is anybody using any of the clients that allow devices to be on a virtual LAN over WAN?
Any thoughts or recommendations?

Can you be a little more specific ? Obviously the usual suspects i.e. Cisco, Netscreen etc....

A new trend seems to be the WAN accelerators/optimizers but they run at mucho cash ! ! ! !

SSH can be configured to do what you are thinking of plus it can compress the data prior to transmission.

However a lowly, Cisco PIX 501 will do what you need but it does need a little bit of setting up.

Depends on the size of the network you are talking about. Hamachi is an interesting options, although, as an IT security consultant, I would have concerns over any product that doesn't make its security design open source and therefore open to scrutiny. If this is a commercial company you are talking about, then I would be inclined to stick to a tried and tested product, as mentioned by Rich. If this is non-commercial, then Hamachi might be worth a look.

Thanks chaps.

Definitely non commercial, just a few of the geeks at work looking to mess around a bit.

I'll give Hamachi a try and report back!
