Indeed, I'm happy with Zen but when LLU's come to my exchange im going to have to decide if I'm going down the LLU road or not. Typically I get pings of 32ms to the BBC which is decent enough, went to someones house who was on Bulldog's LLU and he was getting pings of 13ms to the BBC

I'm debating whether to go the BE route as my exchange is unbundled at the start of January. I have been extremely happy with Zen, but 24mb ....
What may stop me is that BE has mixed reviews on thinkbroadband: The UK's largest independent ADSL review site - Your guide to UK broadband Internet. .

As a rule of thumb in Telewest anything above 30 is classed as an issue and we hate issues
I'd do a netstat and make sure your not running any unwanted programs

I know cable pings are far lower than the average Max pings, me mate is on Virgin and heavily interleaved.....he gets pings of around 250ms might as well be dialup for playing games online. Apparently also being in the south (Cardiff) makes pings slightly higher or so i've heard, no unwanted progs running, I limited outgoing ports and the number of simultaneous connections on me Cisco 877 and everything be logged, incoming and outgoing.

as a general rule it's far better to connect to the net via a router, for me the security plus points being the main reason.

Using wireless won't improve ping, but if the router reacts better to the line than the modem you are using now , you may see a benefit

one of those could be good mind to tidy things up a bit, my SNR went up from 22 to 27 dB when I was on 2 meg after fitting the older version of this

thanks m8
Also if you have more than one phone on the same socket as the adsl the power is reduced and can cause issues
