Well, amazing, I just walked in to Game a bought one this morning. I haven't decided whether to keep it or give it to a friend of mine who has been trying for a while.
Are you all having fun with yours?

Wifey asked in game this morning at 10 for one and they said they had three in at 9 and they were sold by five past. Me and my daughter was in the same shop browsing at 12 and overheard the shopkeeper saying to someone they had one left and could only sell it as a package with 5 games for £379.
I had a go on it when I got home for an hour, its now wrapped up under the tree with Zelda, Happy Feet, Rayman, Need for Speed and Call of Duty.

^^^ That's complete tosh! I was on ranting to Game Customer Services this morning about their 'tactics' over packages. They confirmed that you can insist on the console only, it is a consumer right.
Wish I had known on Tues when I could've had one only for the lousy store manager

Thats right it did seem like a sales tactic but I would have probably wanted 3 games to go with it. Its a shame we live in Rip off Britain and everyones out to make a quick buck.

Well I got one this morning Went out to do my Christmas shopping at 8.30, went into Argos but didn't have any. The stock checker said to ask at the tills so I thought might as well and they checked and had a delivery a few miles up the road. Reserved one and went there and picked it up. Not opening it until Christmas day as its a family present.
Also apart from another controller is there anything else you need to play it? Does it come with a scart cable? Do I need some sort of memory card for game saves?

If your TV as a component input , I would buy a component cable , got mine from Gameplay £14.99. Although not used my Wii yet its supposed to improve PQ no end , Any SD card can be used for memory.

Cheers, should have an old 16mb sd card laying about somewhere which will do for now, just found out the controllers are rarer than the bloody console. Just reserved one normal and0 one nunchuck at seperate Argos's miles away as no idea which one I need so off to read up on them now before driving over to get one
Looks like its the nunchuck one I want but do you need another wii remote for that as well?

I was out searching yesterday for a 2nd Nunchuk (already have a 2nd Wiimote) and none to be found.
Rare as rocking horse **** at the moment, although I guess that situ will change after Xmas.
I take the view that my lad should count himself lucky getting the console in the first place
Merry Xmas to you mate.

WB try Argos for controllers/accessories etc as they seem to have stock when no one else does. I managed to get the wii remote and nunchuck this afternoon after thinking they may have been stock errors. They had more left as well. I used the stock checker phone number on the website and had a list of local stores up on another page which have the store numbers listed next to them and you can check for one item at a time and it will let you check numerous stores and reserve there and then even though you can't actually reserve for store pickup if you try and do it via the web, over the phone you can

I'm feeling lucky too - I thought what could I treat myself to this Christmas, and decided yesterday to get Zelda - Twilight Princess for my Gamecube. Went to get it today and everywhere was sold out. Got home, phoned around - no joy. Last gasp attempt at a small computer shop in a naebry town and BINGO! ;-) Thats me sorted this Christmas !!
