PC Resets when unplugging USB device
....Does anyone have a link to a fix for this please?
Basically, every time I remove a USB device (dongle for example) then the PC resets. It's becoming a PITA.
Thanks

can't you "turn off" the device with the little widget by the clock prior to unplugging?
I used to have the same problem, a BIOS & driver update fixed it.

I'd be inclined to go for a BIOS & driver update first. If that doesn't work, go for a restore (as you've lost nothing).
What's the power usage of the devices? Are you daisy-chaining / overloading your motherboard?

Hi
The USB devices are plugged into (6 on-board) mainboard USB, and also a D-Link powered USB hub. They're dongles, so very low power devices and/or phone cables with embedded modem chips.
System restore seems to have worked (so far) so thanks.
been on the same mb bios for over 2 years now and never had a problem before now.

Thanks so far...
