Good luck. They'll be in mega short supply.

I see there's already some up on ebay. Going for nearly £900 now

But they only had 80,000 of the things, and it's Sony in Japan, so it's hardly surprising they sold out is it?

It's obvious it will sell. There are too many Sony fanboys out there for it not to. It's been getting some pretty avergae comments from gamers though, (specifically aimed at the alomost complete lack of any decent games).

Indeed - even the Nindinto DS sells over 100,000 units per week in Japan, and that's been out for ages.

The 60GB job is £270 in Japan. Theres (Supposedly) one on Ebay in the UK with 2 days left and is already £820.

You could take a 2 day trip to Japan, buy as amany as you can find. Sneak them back, pay for the trip AND make a tidy profit.

Checking flights as we speak

If you are that desperate you could fly to Hong Kong on Oasis Airlines and probably get one too (cheaper and easier than Japan)

The only flaw in your plans is that as stated earlier in the thread, it's sold out in Japan

It would be a big gamble - screwed if they'd all sold out again. Flight is £450 (To Japan). Go Friday back Monday with £2/300 spending money. By 3 at £270. Back to blighty, sell them at £1000 each.

I don't really want one. Happy with my PC. £1500 profit and a mini-adventure

Yep theres one on ebay for £1k+ atm.

I'll wait but even then cant see myself getting one, be just like 360 (for me anyway) massively underwhelmed by what I have seen and played on it. Great visuals only carry a game so far.

I think that's more to do with the gaming industry in general ratehr than the 360 itself. For instance, I've not bought and played a game on my PC for ages. There's just nothing worth buying at the moment. In fact, since I got the 360, I've hardly touched games on the PC...

I've seen people lined up outside the local Best Buy here since last week. I'm expecting places to sell out very quickly indeed, certainly within a few hours of release. Same thing happened with the 360. Give it two weeks and you might be able to get one at a sensible price.

If you bribed someone then I'm sure you'll be able to obtain it.

I'm waiting to see the ads on ebay from people selling the receipt or box of their PS3 Read carefully people!

Yeah I saw this yesterday Fitting a 320GB SATA drive without any hassle. Plus no region lockout for games/bluray (but standard DVD codes for DVD , obv).

This is going to look lovely next to my 360 and Wii

totally agree with that

A lot of people are being swept along on the hype. I won't bother until there's something AAA that I want to play. Fancy graphics alone won't cut it.

Not worth it until a new Gran Turismo arrives IMO.

Personally, I've never been swept along with hype. I still think there are some genuinely great games on the 360, (not just eye candy). I've got a notoriously short attention span in games, but I can honestly say there have been one or two on the 360 which have kept me hooked for ages.

I just find it a bit galling that my £300 xbox 360 now gets more use for than my gaming pc, which I spent nearly £3k on a year ago <sigh>...

Depends what sort of games you're in to. PC plays host to games you are simply not going to get on consoles - Company of Heroes, Medieval TW2, DefCon - ANd latest versions os games that aren't going to appear on consoles any time soon - HL2 Ep1, GTR2 plus the forthcoming Crysis etc. Plus there is the mod scene - Take oblivion for example.

Obviously 360 has some great games - PGR3 (which is never out of my drive tray for very long, despite buying it on launch day), GRAW, Dead Rising, Fight Night Round 3 etc - But there is some absolute dross too.

I have always maintained that unless you owned a Cube, Xbox , PS2 and PC then you are missing out in some shape or form. I dont see it being any different in the next gen.

I am looking forward to Forza 2 much more than I am GT5 - as for homegrown Sony exclusives it's the promise of SCE and Fumito Ueda (Mr ICO & SotC) that excites me more.

Resistance is Futile

After Dreamcast I swore never to buy a console at launch again. I managed to keep to that with PS2, and cube and Xbox - Of course I ended up getting them all.

Then along comes 360 and my vow got blown out the window and there was I on launch day waiting for the postman to arrive.

I'll be doing the same with Wii - My pre-order has been in since september - and I hope I'll be able to hold out with PS3. But I am promising nothing
