Cordless/wireless skype?
Not really a tecchie, so be patient
Have PC at home with cable broadband and skype (relatives abroad). It's a big house, but a long chat btwn the wife and her sister means a long time for her to sit in front of the PC.
I just realised. I have a bluetooth-transmitting USB memory stick, and a Sony Ericsson bluetooth earpiece/headset.
Is there any reason (apart from my own incompetence) why I can't set it up so that she can open the skype call and then walk around the house for an hour, chatting on the headset?
If possible - how do I do it?
Thanks
Brendan

Should be easy, at least it is on a Mac. You should be able to set up the headset and dongle easily enough, it should automatically detect it. Once that's done, you should (I can't say for sure, I don't use Windows) be able to see the headset in the sound device preferences. From there, you should be able to select what device you'd like to use with Skype.
On my Mac I just plug it in, select the device, and I'm done.
If you have a PDA/phone with wifi, you could perhaps download a Skype client for use with that, will give a better range around the house too.

I've successfully set this up...........
It took a while !! I can tell ya......
I eventually found out that Skype only support Bluetooth dongles that use the Widdcomm drivers.....
I found out that the Belkin Bluetooth Dongles (commonly found on amazon for a tenner) come with these......
Install the dongle and pair the headset.
You will need to 'choose' the audio settings within Skype to allow you to use the Bluetooth headset...... i.e. Bluetooth voice - Bluetooth Audio....
But it is preeetty cool when it's working......
Downside would be that all audio would go through the headset while connected ??
