Note that it's possible to wear out the connections by continually disconnecting and reconnecting the leads. The sockets in some of those modems do not stand up well to it at all (I've seen a couple of broken ones).
Personally, I currently use a dlink router, but will probably be changing it for a draytek soon (because the dlink is rubbish for what I use it for). It costs a small amount, but it saves hassle, you can have the pc and xbox accessing the internet at the same time, and doesn't stress the connections...

you'll need this
http://www.portforward.com/english/r...x_Live_360.htm
The setup/port forward for that router so your xbox live goes without a hitch.
The only thing that write up doesn't tell you how to do is set a static ip for the 360, but I'm sure you'll work that out
Craig.

Remember to add your gamertag to the list on here and add us as friends. IT's been a little quiet latley with people playing single player stuff a lot but when the dark nights come in that might change.
for games check out www.playasia.com the multi region section will work in the UK and only cost £23 delivered my copy of prey and moto GP are from asia and all English in game.
Craig.
