Internet Explorer can't see the internet
Having problems with IE6 on my PC.
Even though my PC is connected to the internet, IE6 cannot seem to get through. Using Mozilla to post this. Wouldn't be that bothered but I need to get onto Windows Update, which only works with Internet Explorer.
I've checked the connection settings and they are set to "always dial the default connection" - the default connection being the one I'm using now with Mozilla.
Nothing is set up in my LAN settings.
The problem started after installing Wanadoo "wireless" modem on the PC. It worked ok, but went through a network connection to the wirless modem thing. I got rid of it as I couldn't get it to work with my laptop.
I believe there must be a setting somewhere which is making IE6 think it still needs to go via the network, but I can't find anything anywhere.
Any ideas / pointers?
