I posted about it recently...do a search for slingbox

Assuming you want to use it for controlling/viewing your sky box from some remote location, the upshot was that the internet companies don't offer a fast enough UPLOAD speed to make it worthwhile yet - picture quality isn't that good.

Although if you just want to relay sky around your house using your LAN, then its fine as a LAN card has excellent upload/download speeds.

I've got one. I use it for watching the cricket while I'm at work.

Even over our company's very crappy internet connection, I can tell whats going on.

If you PM me, I can arrange (temporary!) access to my slingbox so you can see it working.
You'll need to download and install the viewer first:

sorry mate, didn't mean to sound so harsh!

I think the slingbox will be an absolute MUST in a few years time, for people who work away from home, but only when Broadband upload speed from your home is fast enough to transmit a good tv picture.

Right now if you have a decent broadband connection perhaps 4Mb/s, that figure refers to your download speed. Tyoically your upload speed from your computer(lan) to the internet is only 384Kb/s. This upload figure isn't fast enough to transmit a decent tv picture.

This will change in the next couple of years with the introduction of newer types of broadband complete with fast upload speeds.
