Default Windows EFS - Need help decrypting files

I had some encrypted files (using standard EFS) which I had backed up. I then did a new Windows XP build and restored all files - including the ones that were encrypted.

Although the files restored fine and are coloured green in explorer, I can't decrypt them. Even using the same username I get "Access Denied". I assume there was some unique key on my old build that is now lost.

Is there any way to try and decrypt these files???
