Default Help! - Easiest way to "trim" audio & video?

Can anyone give me an easy solution on how to trim down some video files?

I've used dvd decryptor & PSP video 9 to rip a dvd to mpeg format but I want to be able to trim the credits off the end to save on file size.

Can anyone help?

Also - a way to do the same with MP3's would be handy.

TIA.

Windows Movie Maker 2 that comes free with Windows XP SP2 will do the video editing just fine.
