Got my 360 today but having massive trouble going online!!
HELP!! I'm getting really stressed!!
I got my 360 and thought I could just plug it into the modem supplied by tiscali. Not so as I need to plug an ethernet cable into it! So off I went to Currys and the 360 owning sales adviser recommended I buy a ASDL modem with high speed mode wireless G-router.
Told this would do the job. Just plug my ethernet cable into the back of it, plug into phone socket and job done.
I done that and when I tested the connection on my 360 it said my DSL link wasnt set up. After speaking to 360 help desk he told me I needed to link my new modem to my pc and "open some ports" so he gave me some codes. Trouble is I cant get the modem to link up to my internet!
Did anyone else have trouble connecting to XBOX Live?
I need help cos i'm ready to take it all back!!
Many thanks

Hasnt your tiscali modem got an ethernet port? It should plug straight in to the xbox with the supplied cable, power off/on the modem then switch the 360 on and enter the auto config setup

Am I right in thinking you've just got broadband in at the same time?
or did you have it already?
With me it was just a case of plugging the cable into my Wanadoo livebox and hey presto, the 360 did everything for me - but I had to wait until my line was activated to get the broadband.
Apologies if this isnt the case - I just read it that way.

Ive got the exact same modem m8,what ive done is set it up wireless to my pc the put a wireless adaptor on the 360.
Contact the help line on the box and they will run you through on connecting it all up wirelessly, then test the connection with the 360 ( i had a few problems trying to do it your way, sharing the internet connection via enthernet cable etc....) you'd be better getting the wireless connector for the 360 too.

Hopefully without sounding patronising... you have entered your adsl login details in the router setup. You can normally access this by going to 192.168.0.1 in Internet Explorer.

Have you tried plugging the modem directly in to the 360?
Also, have you tried here http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/pcsetup/xboxnetwork.htm and here http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/support/xb...ntrotohigh.htm
