Networking a Macbook to a PC

sys prefs > sharing > services > windows sharing > enable an account
on the pc
set a share then run the wizard and then wait for the cache to update its self and after about 5 mins when windows has realised a change you should be able to see both machines

Try this on the Macbook:
Open System Preferences and click on Sharing. Then enable the "Windows Sharing" option. Click the "Accounts" option and then enable the checkbox next to the user account you want to coonect with and click Done.
Go to the PC and fire up Windows Explorer and type in \\IPAddressOfMac\ into the location bar, (IPAddressOfMac being the TCP/IP addres of the mac)then hit return, it should prompt you to enter a username and password, enter the name and password you enabled in system prefs.
You should then be able to access the home folder for that user.
Why is it asking you to insert the USB Key, and what's the USB key for? Is it just for file storage? I have a feeling it's probably asking for a USB cable rather than a key, looking at what I've just quickly read on the XP networking two computers page.
I've always just used the procedure mentioned above and it's worked fine for me.
