Nintendo DS (Lite)
Hello
Does anyone have one of these? I played one for a few minutes in a shop the other day and it looks good. I always thought it was a poor second to the PSP, but the games seem playable and it seems less fragile.
Comments? It might have to be a 'present' for my daughter!

Already have a PSP and it has to be said the graphics aren't as good on the DS as the PSP but the game play is pretty good.I bought the Brain training games and they are different from the norm. Also, got Mario Karts for £20 from Argos.
I found the best deal around at the minute seems to be with Toysrus.
For £129.99 you get:
DS Lite (I bought the white one to avoid the finger marks everywhere like my PSP)
Super Mario brothers game (The one that's just recently been released)
Starter pack (Sh1tty leather look carry case, stylus etc etc)
Plus any game from the £29.99 range they stock
The deal's available on the web as well as in store
Good luck
Edited to say that the Lite is much better backlit than the original DS (One of the guys brought his DS in and we compared them - The DS looked a little dated next to the Lite plus the brightness was nowhere near that of the Lite)

Bought a ds lite about a week after the release in this country, have owned just about every console since the old atari.
Graphics wise it doesnt compare to the psp (which is now collecting dust) but the games are just so playable and its more portable than the psp with the games being on cartridges they load instantly and the battery life pisses all over the psp AND THE GAMES BRING BACK THE FUN FACTOR THAT THE PSP, EVEN MY 360 SEEMS TO BE MISSING.
I can honestly say i am so impressed with it, you cant argue with the price either, amazing little console.
GET ONE.

Both my kids have the original DS's, and I can honestly say I've never known any game system be so popular and playable than the games that are coming out.
Ninentdogs has taken our neighbourhood by storm, with all the kids kitting out their dogs with various accessories, taking them for walks, swapping them between each others kennels!
Mariokart is just sublime, and had all our stand at the NBO trying to beat my time, and had a fantastic game with jay on the ferry over to the IOM in April, from about 5 rows back
Animal Crossing is something the kids keep going back to time and again, and once again, they're trading and making friends online and locally via the network functions.
My biggest praise comes for its capability of bringing people together to play and trade. I vividly remember 6 kids sat out in the cold one dry february day, trading dog collars and hats on our front porch!
Great system as usual from nintendo, who really do know what gaming is all about for kids (young or old )
Now I'm off to play half-life

Hello
Okay, I just bought myself, oops, my daughter, one. It's really good. The Brain game is interesting, although I'm a little too slow apparently!
Off to play Ridge Racer, Mario, Tetris and Mario Kart.

What's the control system like for Super Mario DS, read a review and it said it let the game down. Loved it on the N64 but the review put me off buying a DS...

Hello
At this has gone back to the top, just to say that I'm still really enjoying the DS Lite, when I can get it out of the hands of my wife and two daughters.
It is excellent.

The thing that impressed me on Nintendogs is the bubble blower! Took a while to work out but to actually have to blow into the mic to release the bubbles is amazing IMO!
