Backup? Held needed
Last week I lost almost everything from my pc and now I promised myself to backup everything once a week. But which programme can I get for that? I am looking for a programme, where I can automatically backup all my stuff.

Windows comes with a propriety Back-up software found in 'Accessories'->'System Tools'. Called backup.
Or get hold of a second hard disk (Internal or external) and get c opy of Symantec Ghost. And you can image you're whole drive to another ready for the inevitable.

As said above NT backup and schedule the job - very easy and very cheap... i.e free
The idea of a second disk / CD / DVD / Tape Drive to backup TO is worth investigating as well...

How do you back up certain files? There is of course the My Documents folder, which is easy to back up, but what about the stuff synched from my mobile? Email addresses, and email messages in OExpress (the things that usually go when my HD does )? Certain progs tend to save things in places other than My Docs - do you override them all and somehow instruct them to save in My Docs, or can you set a backup to hunt down and backup various subfolders?

In OE, you can set where to export your messages and addresses to.
In Outlook, which is much better IMHO, you can export the entire lot as a *.pst file
The only other things are your favorites.
Basically, all of my stuff tends to go into My Documents, then I back that folder along with the Outlook and Favorites to a DVD. I never bother with the apps, as I've already got those. That's your PC back up covered.
I use one DVD per month (misposted earlier) and back up anything really important (primarily photos) at the time of importing.

I'm using EMC (Formerly Dantz) Retrospect Personal for backing up my machine. Have it set to backup my main boot drive, which will take care of all my settings, documents, music, and of course the OS itself, to a 300GB external drive. Seems to be getting around 100 - 300MB backed up per night, depends on what I've been doing during the day.
Most of that is probably 50 - 100MB sized disk images from the dev team, so a bit more excessive than your average document files.
