Whats the word on TalkTalk's broadband ?
Anyone tried it ?
A friend's asked me if its any good.
So, I'm just wondering how solid the package is and if anyone would recommend it ?

Wouldn't touch it myself.
Our MD tried installing the software on Saturday afternoon and I spent most of Sunday afternoon putting it back together.
It asked him if he wanted to use its own firewall/virus/spamware tools and he agreed. It then said it would do him a "Favour" and uninstall the existing software.
Took about an hour to get the PC to boot to windows and then a couple of goes with system restore to get it to a workable state.

to be fair you can find problems with ANY ISP.
A lot of the problem was the freeloaders who wanted p2p downloads all day every day - so talktalk is not for them.
On the other hand, their Customer service is reportadly bad - and from what little experience I have (and it was not to do with broadband) - It backs it up.

Just swapped over to it .... works so far. I went for the 'Free BB for ever' package and financially you can't beat it (no cable or anything down my way). As others said, any ISP has problems.
Swapped from BY Yahoo and was told I wouldn't notice any disruption in my service - which is cr*p as I would have had to change passwords and usernames etc. Anyhow, phone line went on the blink and took BB down. Rang BT several times, lots of minutes on hold before talking to an Indian Call Centre. Noone could tell what the problem was. Though I had an inkling that talktalk *may* have taken the line over as they had my MAC code already. On the 5th call to BT they said (an English bloke this time) that my service had been discontinued.
OK. Off to Talktalk - and another Indian Call Centre. Eventually I got mu username/password off them - but they said I'd have to wait for my Wecome Pack/SW etc. B&llsh!t. Put that into my router and off I went .... so far so good - but still waiting for my Welcome Pack .....
