Theres loads at that sort of price, its just knowing which one to go for. Have found this...

NEC i-Select M5410 Pentium M 1.73GHz / 512MB / 60GB / TFT15 / Combo / WinXP Home for £432 inc VAT.

Just not sure on whether thats a good spec for the price?

I think the NEC is better value/spec for the money. Is the PENTIUM M better than the Celeron?

Spec on the NEC is better than the acer. There are things to consider, for example is battery life an issue, reliability, etc etc.

Reliability is defo an issue, not so much battery life. It will probably spend most of its life plugged in anyway.

A friend has recommended this...

Doesnt seem as high spec as the NEC but he says NEC budget laptops are crap.

The Acer laptops on www.ebuyer.co.uk website seem pretty good value - got a nicely specced machine for my mum on there.
