Video editing software

Just started to do some video editing and was wondering if anyone knew of some decent software, i'm currently using Pinnacle Studio V9.4 but would like to know if there is anything better out there

Adobe Premiere
Ulead Media Studio Pro

both have 30 day trial versions available from their respective websites
