Email help please.
I have been on the phone for 40 mins now to someone who seems as much use as **** on fish!
I cannot retrieve my mail via OE. I can receive mail via web mail yet I cannot send mail via web mail.
OE is throwing the followin error:
The connection to the server has failed. Account: 'mail.btinternet.com', Server: 'mail.btinternet.com', Protocol: POP3, Port: 110, Secure(SSL): No, Socket Error: 10061, Error Number: 0x800CCC0E
Please, please help. I am still on hold btw

Can you send via OE?
Can you try setting up another mail app?
If that error is reporting correctly is looks like you are trying to connect to an account called 'mail.btinternet.com' which would not be correct, that is the name of the POP server not your account name, check that is not the account/username you are trying to connect with
The fact that you can connect over webmail means the mailbox is working, that account name would be the same one in OE (sorry if that was obvious - the error just looks odd)

The guy apparently checked but there is no record of the server being down.
Rich, I will set up my Hotmail via OE and see if I have any joy that way.
