Question What's a good program for editing/creating DVD's?

I've used TPMGNec but if the dvd's are different audio formats and sometimes video formats it wont work. I want an all singing all dancing program that i can chop bits out of films and put them together onto a DVD without converting and all that.

I dont mind paying a decent price.

Adobe Premiere Pro - Not cheap, but worth the money if you are looking at a serious project.

Just to clarify. Its for putting together clips from commercially bought DVD's,not home movies.

Don't know if it's a bit too 'home PC' orientated, but I've always found Nero software did the job where other programs clashed or shut down or knackered up. Nero stuff just works.

Cyberlink PowerDVD

or Ulead DVD Movie Factory

but if its serious stuff then only Adobe Premiere will do, but the learning curve is like vertical. The other two above are pretty easy to use but more aimed at home users. Cyberlink Power DVD has a timeline editor as well.

I'm more than happy with Adobe Premiere Elements 2.0. Needs a decent processor though. It's a lot easier to use the the full version and much better than the other 'free with camcorder s/w. The tutorial with it gets you up to speed very quickly. If you've not got the min.req processor the earlier version 1.0 (or 1.5?) is also very good.

Best regards,

Ian

I used the trial for a short while for a simple home-movie (ish ) Was easy to do the basics but you could get more involved with what look (to me) a lot of advanced features
