Display countdown before screensaver kicks in and locks pc?
We have deployed a custom screesaver to drill messages in to staff, and have a group policy which forces it to kick in and lock the workstation after 10 minutes.
What i am trying to find is some way of showing a countdown before it locks.
I have found a reg hack that delays the lock after the screensaver activates
http://www.sanx.org/tipShow.asp?index=295
but the only way i can think of displaying a countdown is to make the first 30 seconds of the screensaver into a countdown (30.. 29......10..9..8..7..etc). But this would then be seen every time the screensaver loops (which is about every 3 minutes or so). Other than make a 15 hour long screensaver dows anyone else have any ideas?
Thanks
Avi

Someone has suggested reading the "grace period until lock" from the registry and displaying it as a countdown, but unfortunately that's way above me
Anybody out there who may be able to help or point me in the direction of how to do this?

A screensaver is just a normal exe renamed to .scr. Windows passes /s to start the screensaver, /p for the preview and /c for the config screen (there doesn't need to be one though). You need to get someone to knock it up for you, easy project for a developer. Make sure your users have at least read-only access to that registry key
