I'm with you bob, this isn't going to be as good as so many think.
no matter how much I loved super mario when I play it now it just doesn't cut it. Old games are best left in the past where I can't pick faults in them.

I remember spending hours in the arcade (not in this country, mind) with quarters lined up on the screen, waiting in the queue to challenge one of the dozens waiting. good fun.
And it's still prolly the best 2d fighter -- best combo/cut off system. Sure it isn't up to today's 3d stuff - but with some of the Capcom games, the animation quality was superb (thinking of the Marvel vs xx series)

It was destroyed on the PS2 when they took it to 3D-ish Tekken style movements...the game was flawless as a 2-player 2D ha-do-ken fest
Never mind the X360 release, I've got myself 2 SF2 boards (one Champion Edition and one Hyperfighting), just need jamma cabinets for them and we're away!
Attack me if you dare, I will crush you

This is sad:
I went to the CES (I think it was called back then) at Earls Court when Nintendo had a huge stand advertising the forthcoming SFII for the UK SNES. I'd been playing a US import version for 6 months prior, and was awesome at it (and I still am ), entered the knockout competition and came third. I actually made some kids cry by double-perfecting them, haha
Edit to add, I can't play it on the PS2, the controller isn't as dragon-punch happy as the SNES's one is, so I generally play a Japanese version on my Famicom.
Sho-ryu-ken!
