Default Nero dvd burning confused?

I want to burn a dvd, i have the file (film) i want to burn and according to the data its a 600mb file. no probs there.

I used nero 6 and went to create dvd, dragged the file in, and now its a whopping 3.5gb ?? i thought you could get multiple movies on on dvd??

the 600mb file is just afaik the data and soundtrack, no extras etc

any ideas why it increases in size, and what can i do to get more than 1 film on a dvd?

its for playing on home dvd players, which i believe are divx capable

I think youd need to select Data DVD otherwise it will convert it to MPEG-2, assuming your player plays divx data DVD will keep it as a div x film

Default film

If its a divx file you are wanting to play on your home dvd player, just use the "make data cd/dvd" option in nero, dont try and convert it as it will try and make it into a "real" dvd film with VOBS.

Or try using Nero Vision Express.

you need to burn it on nero express as a data file, not nero vision express which will make it into a propper dvd

Indeed it does. Normal Nero in DVD data mode is the way to go
