Portable camera to storage devices..
Hi Has anyone on here bought one of these to offload their picture off their digital camera to avoid buying a larger memory card.
Specifically seen this one which connect to the USB of your camera and can pull the data straight off!
I'm on a budget.
Looks good?

pricey imho - yes, the portablity is an issue, but I can't get past the fact that £90 buys you a 250Gig Usb HD.......
Additional cards are a cheaper alternative imho

From another site, posted a week ago.
Staples are currently selling the FlashTrax Xp portable storage/media player for £99, which seems to be somewhat of a bargain. Picked one up yesterday and for the price it appears to be great so far. 40 Gig hard drive, 3.5 inch screen, single button copy from CF card to Disk, reader adapter for different cards, scart adapter for playing video through the TV, or recording from TV as a pvr, picture viewer, mp3 player, avi/divx etc. video player. I plan to use it mainly as a store for digi pics while out and about but also to play the odd ripped/compressed DVD and of course mp3s.
Worth giving your local store a call before trekking out to ensure they have any left in stock.

I have a unit that I bought form Ebay, Search for "USB OTG"
it has card slots all the way round the unit and you can put upto 80GB laptop HDD into it. You simply put the card in and press transfer. IT makes a seperate folder for each of the card you put in (compact flash comes up CF001,CF002,CF003 and so on)
works really wel and cost £20+the HDD that I had lying around
