computer died today!
Using my wifes laptop as my pc has just died on me
Came back from my early morning bike ride, pc has been on all night, tidying up and plugged in my dell axim x5 pda, active sync came up, and started to sync with my outlook.
At that point, the mouse became stuttery! then the pc shut down, and tried to restart. It couldn't restart though, and has now hung completly, with no hard drive action at all. When I now switch on, all I get is the power supply coming on, and nothing else.
I did get a chance to look into my processes before it crashed, and saw I had some WORM##'~~.exe running, is this the really bad one I've read about crashing peoples machines recently?
I'm fully up to date with my virus software, have a good firewall on my network, what have I done wrong?
Help!

hmmm, on further investigation, it would seem to be a power supply issue. None of my drives seem to be getting power. DVD or HD. I have a 400w psu, which seems to have given up the ghost

After some excellent advice off mike today, I've been and bought a new motherboard and cpu. I was after a major upgrade anyway, and this was as good a time as any to do it
After fitting it all in, just mb and psu first, nothing was working still. After some very extensive testing on both mine and my sons pc, it would seem the psu is playing up big time.
It will power up the dvd drive, on any of the 2 double ended cables, but plug any of those 4 plugs into any of my hd's and it will not power anything
So, looks like a new psu is on the cards tomorrow. Rather annoyingly though, it is getting power to the case fan!
