New psu and random bsd's!!!
My old psu went to the hills last night, so i replaced it with spare,,, all ok no probs evertyhing went ok and worked ok..
put in its replacement today a 600w jobby..
now i keep getting bsd's.. and when i try to play giulkdwars online it bsod's saying pfn list corrupt ive tried on the lappy, and its fine no probs...
i keep getting it asking me to install a generic usb driver and then goes **** up, it says avg is giving errors (bsod) my bluetooth reciever again (bsod)
any ideas.... the only other change ive made is to change the secondary ide cable from a 40 pin to a 80 as it kept nagging in the post screens (used for a dvd burner only.
what do you reckon, uninstal all my card stuff and start a again..

Sounds like the old PSU has caused issues on you're Hard Disk. Have you tried running a Scandisk/chkdisk? You may find the HDD has some sector problems that need repairing. Either that or you may have a duff RAM DIMM, causing Data corruption.
Either way you 're best bet is to run some checks against both.
You did plug in the square 4-pin power connector for the CPU?

i removed the ram and removed the usb card,,,, all seems ok ish
i think the ram is the root cause, ive had issues for some time now whereby i have 1024 meg and onstartup will show anywhere between 500-600, after the machine has been running and is warm if i do a reboot it will detect the other strip, sometimes its there to start with.
i would go down the new mb route, but now that all the proccesors and and stuff have changed, its not going to be a cheap upgrade, (mb,ram, drives, graphics card, processor) ,ill have to soldier on for a bit longer,,
cheers for the help though
