Unhappy

Think I've got a fault with basic pc i am using, sometimes will not boot, if i take power lead out and press in power on button for 10-30 seconds system works fine,

have re-seated everything , still happens, narrowed it down to psu or mobo,

anybody got a dell psu

have you checked the voltages for +/-12, 5 and 3.3V in your BIOS? are they low? Is the system going into standby and then not powering out of it? check power/wake up settings in your BIOS.

so, like you said, you take out the power lead and then (after putting it back in) it powers up fine?

What setting has the power button got in the bios? sounds silly, but mine has about 4 different power up/down states.

Maybe a dodgy power switch - Dell have those fiddly little micro-switches under the button.
They also have a green bulb inside which goes out once the power's drained totally, so see if it boots consitently once the lights gone out. Probably a psu - but it'll cos ya £100 to find out if you don't have spares around.
