Which wireless router?
Ok, it seems my router is dying, and so I'm going to need a replacement very soon. Wireless connectivity has started going up and down like a yoyo, and even the ethernet keeps dropping.
So what I need are recommendations for a good wireless cable / dsl router, (with 4 ethernet ports and an ethernet input from the ntl cable modem), with a decent range, good security, and ideally reliable. Over the last couple of years I've had an Actiontek (can't remember the model), a Linksys WRT54G, and a D-Link DI-624, all of which have been pretty rubbish to be honest.
Anyone got any suggestions for something a bit better?
Thanks,
Iain

I could defo recommend cisco as well (haven't used netgear much), i've got the 877W which is ace but not cheap. 871W would be used for cable. But if you want to use WPA, dont forget the radius server

My Netgear DG834G has been faultless for the past 9 months, and I had a FM114P before that which also never missed a beat. No experience of any others as I've never needed to change!
Not sure if things have changed, but a while ago, the 108Mbps ones had stability issues, but the 54Mbps were much more stable.

The Belkin 54G looks quite good, especially the one I can connect to that has no password or security set-up for it that some poor soul has set-up in my street . I personally still use a D-Link 604+ (11/22Mbps) router.

Using a Belkin one at the moment, no problems so far.
Had a 'D-Link DSL-904', the wireless constantly cuts out, unit stopped responding after 6 months of use. Then went and bought a Netgear(£50) wireless router which came with a wireless card for laptop - this was selling for £35 in pc world alone (was going to sell it on ebay)! Took the netgear unit back as I was sold a faulty one, couldnt connect to the net!
