Default What happened to all those great space/flight sims?

what ever happened to all those great combat flight sims from the 90s?
Remember Falcon 4.0?
A110 - tankbuster
F117 (?)....
Strike Commander (the fore-runner to the popular Wing COmmander series....)
Wing Commander (played them all on most formats - loved em!)
How come you can't get games like this anymore?

Probably because console gaming has taken off so much more now so development companies are concentrating their efforts where the main market is

Falcon is STILL around, but its a DIY effort from the community these days.

Spectrum Holobyte don't existing anymore. Not sure who has rights now.

Anyone remember FA18 Interceptor on the Amiga ? The first qulaity flight sim I ever played:

God all i used to play were combat flight sims goign back a few years, Birds of Prey, F-19 Stealth Fighter, TFX, A-10 Cuba, etc.

I downloaded the demo of X-Plane yesterday which is pretty good, but I would be interested in finding another decent "combat" flight SIM again.

Ah, that's good to see

Falcon really captured my imagination, back in the day.

Had it on my Amiga A1000 back in '87 I think - and was always gutted I didn't get the canopy bullet holes with my 512k RAM. Apparently those with 1,024k did, the posh gits!
