Default Cheapest & best HD TV to go with a Xbox 360

I have just bought a 360 and am now thinking of buying a HD TV to take full advantage of the excellent graphics.
What is the best value "HD Ready" TV up to about £600 ?

I have been Googling and the Samsung LE26R41B HDTV keeps getting lots of mentions, any one here have one?
Cheers

I've got the Sammy 32", and its excellent, highly recommed them.

Have a look on here, this is where i got mine from, cheap, next day service and seem to have all the latest models before most others.

Yep,I have the integrated Digital version LE26R41BD of it and it's a superb TV. I have tried my 360 on it once and it does look brill but in my office at home I have a 20in Dell (2005FPW) widescreen PC monitor that I hook my 360 into.Might even be worth checking out the Dell 2005FPW (Or the more expensive 2405FPW) but depends whether you want the TV tuner facility of the Samsung or purely a PC monitor? (Dell were doing 25% off them and not sure whether this offer is still on)
You can in fact, hook a digi box into the Dells as they have s-video and composite inputs plus the 2405 has component inputs.
Have a look at www.Freemans.com as they were offering 20% discount for new customers so you can either get the pay monthly option or simply pay it off in one go like I did.If you then go through quidco.com you can get an extra 5% discount making 25% in total.
For my LE26R41BD, Freemans standard price is £600 which is competitive if you check on the web anyway (Unusual for a catalogue company I know!) but with the discounts I got mine delivered for £450!!
If there's no mention on the website, give them a call and ask if they still have the 20% discount for new customers first orders!

Good luck

Nick

Thumbs up

The LE26R41BD has just been replaced by the LE26R74BDX different styling and better picture quality. You can get one for about £610.

You'll forget all about that 600 quid as soon as you switch the 360 to hd.

The T51B is lower spec than the R41 no HDMI port amongst other things.

As long as you buy online and not from the highstreet, they are still months behind on models and more expensive

Can you tell me the exact model code for the latest & greatest Samsung 26" preferably without freeview but I'm not really fussed if it has built in digital.
I am thinking that it is the LE26R41B am I right?
Cheers

Nopes,

The R41 is 800:1 contrast (aside from other lesser features)

The M41 is 3000:1 Contrast with 10bit 6.4 billion colour

The latest is the R74 series, 5000:1 Contrast with 10bit 12.8 billion colour with a swivel stand.

If you want freeview they usually have a D suffix at the end of the model code.

for more info > http://www.samsung.com/uk/products/t...6r74bdxxeu.asp

Hope this helps

well you have just changed my mind. im going for this one its for the 360 and it has a game mode.
Samsung LCD TVs offer unparalleled picture quality that can be optimized for gaming at the touch of a button. It allows for H-sharpness and a faster response time in the games. cheers for the info bob269

Not sure if Samsung have changed things now, but the only thing that annoys me about it is there's no easy way to switch to composite input - xbox - you have to press the input button 3 times with the correct gap between presses. Minor complaint, but hey!
