Question Here's a good one - HDMC (SCSI) drive to SCSI 1 adaptor....

Is it possible? If so, who does it?

Basically, a mate of mine has bought a Seagate 36Gig drive for a system running on SCSI1 (50 pin narrow internal - looks like a longer IDE cable/connector)

Rather than send the drive back, is it possible to get an adaptor to go from this HDMC connector to internal SCSI 1 (50 way)?

Any ideas guys?

Dan

Do you mean converting a SCSI-1 50-Pin to a SCSI-2/3 68-way D-Type conector? If so, yes you can.
Done this with a couple of SCSI-1 devices in the past.

Or you can get one of these:

Kind of, but the connector is different - it's a micro-sized "centronics" type connection.

I've got 50-way Internal SCSI and a drive with a v.small connector. Need some means of connecting the two together

Here's the drive -

Aria

It's the 36Gig Seagate for £41.

Needs to connect to a 50 way internal SCSI.

Not a chance in hell I'm afraid. It uses Fibre Channel technology. You'll need the correct host adapter. The 50-pin SCSI-1 connection uses the old copper wire.
Just had a look at the replies from people posting questions about it on that link you gave me. Sorry.
