McAfee Internet Security Suite 2006 - anyone using it?
and if you are what do you think of it?
Setup a new Dell PC for relatives today and it had a 60 day trial and it seemed quite impressive.
Just looked it up at PCWorld and its only £24.99 but I take it thats only for a years worth of updates? Want to know whether I should advise them to buy it or not?
I am currently running McAfee Virusscan Enterprise 7.1 on my home work machine and its always been good. I have tried AVG previously as a freebie and it was appalling so no suggestions on using AVG please, ITS ****E!

I work for McAfee - have done for 12 short years - and focus on the consumer market so it's great to hear you like the product. The £25 is a years subscription, we're releasing a major upgrade to the product line soon'ish, all subscribers will get that update.

Hi Jack, thanks for replying, was sort of hoping you would treply having seen your posts on AV threads before. What i'm missing is whats the difference between what PCWorld are selling for £24.99 and what 'appears' to be the same product on the McAfee site for £49.99? I take it there is something else included or are PCWorld selling it on a special offer? Its quite possible I have misread it and missed obvious differences!

Special offer. Most likely a limited time. Dell sell for a good price as well, but not sure if it's less than PCWorld. Best offer I've seen lately is from Bulldog, you get a year subscription free if you sign up with them.

OK thanks, so probably worth not renewing it and just buying it again from which ever shop/website has it on special offer. Not definately going for it yet anyway as relatives might not want to pay for it and just go with Avast as it that does actually seem ok for a free one compared to AVG and they hardly use their PC.

Bravo,
I use McAfee, having got fed up with Norton's and its ability to hog my computing resources. This product is good, very good. BTW have used McAfee in the past so no stranger to the product.
The PC World price is an offer to the customer. They bought loads and are wanting to shift them quickly.
I am expecting renewal price from McAfee to be around £25 in a years time. Even if its more than this I'm sticking with the product.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
