Default help with DoS attacks at ISP level

The chap who sits next to me is having his site suffocated by ~100 DoS attacks per second. His router's doing a stand up job, but this traffic is eating up his 2meg line and response times for valid browsing of his site is totally slow

He's with Demon and the first response to his can you do anything about thee DoS attacks was drum roll... use anti spam software :|

anyway, he's on the look out for an isp who'll block IPs for him at his request or detect DoS automatically for his site.

any ideas on ISPs who are friendly enough to help? or other advise most welcome too

I've used Nildram in the past - they are not the cheapest host by a long way but their guys in the office are spot on. Might be worth giving them a call?
