Anyone running SLI in an A8N or similar?
I decided I couldnt justify a 7800 etc when I have already have an XFX GeForce 6800 GS Extreme and a spare SLI slot. So for £150 I ordered another one along with 2GB of Corsair DDR XMS3500LL Pro TwinX (this was £50 more expensive than the GFX card!! ). I'm hoping for a decent turn of speed over the single card and was wondering how anyone else fared with SLI.

Good choice sir!! i have a gigabyte board and using twin 6800GT on one card. i am running a winchester 3500+ overclocked to 2.64GHz. have to say i am limited by my 19inch LCD screen with a max of 1280x1024, but any games i am running are as smooth as a baby bum with no artifacts whatsoever.

I'm running 2x 512Mb 7800 cards on an A8 board. To say it's a bit quick is an understatement
Not had any problems with compatibility with games etc so far (although I know there are one or two older ones which don't work). To be honest, I've had more compatibility problems with the 4800+ dual core processor I've got in the machine, but even those seem to have gone away now that more advanced drivers have been released.
Very pleased with it

Cheers lads. sinky, did you have one card then SLI the other, or did you just fire both cards in? I'm asking as I was wondering what sort of boost you got from SLI. Ian, stop showing off and let's see your skills in BF2
I'll test my present system in 3D Mark and then with SLI and report back.

OK for those thinking of SLI I slotted in another 6800 GS today. Fitting was easy although I forgot to turn around the EZ Selector, which again was eazy once I RTFM
3D Mark 2005 tested just before SLI - 5874
With both cards fitted and SLI enabled - 9545!!!
I'm happy. Next a nice overclock since I have some decent mem at last
